Beginings

NOTE: corrected spelling and reposted this is the original post. ; - )

So, I am new at this and will need specific coaching from all those fellow bloggers out there. (you know who I mean.)

I decided to try this to give updates on our newest adventure - Moving from Alaska to Utah after being here for 18 years. This in it self was a great adventure. Who would have thought in their wildest dreams I could get to live here. WOW it's been well worth every darn minute and no regrets. The time has come to move on, and Terry accepted an offered company move and now we are in the works to head for Utah.

Here, through the trees, is absolute proof we are selling the house. This house has been a constant source of inspiration for us as we have completely remodeled this house from the inside. All but about 3/4 sheet of sheet rock that remains of the original insides. It's been a learning experience and hard work and a blast (after each project was done). Terry has the magical ability and skill of vision. Vision to see things not as they are, but as they really should be.

It is our opinion that we took this 1978 house and rebuilt it to what it should have been. We hope the house stands here more proud than ever. ; - ).

Be it also known, we couldn't have done the work without the generous time, energy and brains of Jared, Kris, and Reana and in some cases their friends as well.

The work here in AK continues to get closer to moving. I continue to work out in the garage to prepare for what is likely the biggest garage sale ever or what it looks like is I've started a second hand store with various departments. I never knew you could save so much stuff that when given an opportunity to move, you would choose not to pack, so what was the point to saving it in storage all along anyway? Serious rethinking on things let me tell you.

There are the treasures you will carry with you to your grave, or pass on to the new owners (the children) when the time comes. Some of the very first toys bought for your first born child who now is 28 years old. The first year anniversary of moving to AK card from your husband thanking me for coming to AK with him. The hats, scarves, mittens made with love and initials placed on them from Grandma T. These and many more will be packed and moved. Then when the time is right will be packed once more and sent to each of the children as needed.

But stuff that is NOT being moved, heavens the list is longer that what is. Like, I do not need the extra miss matched drinking glasses, the bits and pieces of craft items, the ski's poles, ice skates that were used when we first moved to AK so long ago. Also we will no longer need the dip netting equipment. No need to dip net in Utah for salmon. The list continues . . . but I won't take the time here.

Never fear, the snow blower is going to make it's way to Utah.

So for now that's what going on. Hoping the house sells quickly so we can begin the real work and hit the road jack!

Then we'll be On the Road Again . . . (thanks Willy)
